Chapter 10: The Ghost in the Mirror

The first thing Siu-Bak did after his rooftop bargain was buy a fish. Not for himself—he couldn't afford that—but for the stray cat that had taken to following him through the alleys of Sham Shui Po. The cat, a mangy thing with one torn ear and the calculative eyes of a loan shark, watched him with suspicion as Siu-Bak laid the fish on the cracked pavement outside the shelter.
