OUR COMMITMENT

JianghuReads ("we," "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal data we hold, guided by internationally recognized data protection principles: collecting data fairly and for stated purposes only, keeping it accurate, using and disclosing it only as described here, keeping it secure, and giving you access to and control over what we hold about you.

WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS

This policy applies to anyone who uses JianghuReads — whether you've created an account or are just browsing. By using the site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described below. We may update this policy from time to time; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated version.

WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

We collect only what's needed to run the service:

• Account data — your email address and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text) — to create and secure your account, verify your identity, and let you log in.
• Activity data — your reading library, comments, ratings, and which chapters you've read — to run core features of the site, like remembering what you've read, showing your progress, and displaying your comments/ratings.
• Technical data — standard device and usage information collected through cookies and analytics tools (see Section 7) — to understand how the site is used and keep it running reliably.

We do not collect any payment card or financial account information.

Providing your email and password is required to create an account; without it, we can't provide account-based features like saving your library.

RETENTION

We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account exists, or as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain the security of the service. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll process that request as described in the next section; some information may be retained afterward where we're legally required to, or where it's part of content you've posted publicly.

WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us run the site — our email provider, used only to send account-related emails (email verification, password resets), and our analytics provider, used only after you accept analytics cookies (see Section 7). These providers may process data outside your home country.
• Authorities, where required by applicable law.

YOUR RIGHT TO ACCESS, CORRECT, OR DELETE YOUR DATA

You can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account. Email support@jianghureads.com and we'll handle your request. Deleting your account removes your login access; comments and ratings you've posted publicly may remain visible, shown under a display name rather than your full email address.

COOKIES AND ANALYTICS

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site and understand how it's used.

• Necessary cookies keep you logged in and remember your cookie preference. These can't be turned off without breaking core site functionality.
• Analytics cookies, loaded only after you accept them, may include Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. These collect anonymized page views, time spent on site, and device type, to help us improve the site. You can withdraw consent at any time; see your current status below.

SECURITY

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including password hashing, access controls restricting who can view account data, and secure session management. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable safeguards.
