They found the shrine at the edge of the Blackwood, where the trees thinned and the ground turned to cracked, dry clay. The Widow of the Thorn had been busy here, too—the walls were hung with wind chimes made of small, hollow bones, and the altar was stacked with clay jars, their lids cracked open to the sky.
